Context

LiskDAO needed a dedicated platform to host programs, funding opportunities, and ecosystem initiatives that did not fit within the main Lisk website. As the DAO became responsible for running grants and programs, there was no clear place for builders to discover, understand, or apply for them.

The goal was to create a focused, scalable website that made LiskDAO’s programs accessible, easy to navigate, and visually aligned with the broader Lisk ecosystem.

Goal

Create a clear, focused platform where builders can discover programs, understand funding opportunities, and apply with minimal friction, while staying aligned with the Lisk brand.

Audience

  • Builders and developers in the Lisk ecosystem

  • Grant and funding applicants

  • Ecosystem contributors and partners

My role

I worked as the sole designer and Webflow developer on this project through EcoLabs.

This included:

  • UX and UI design from scratch

  • Webflow development and CMS setup

  • Aligning the DAO platform visually with the main Lisk brand

  • Implementing program listings, filters, and application flows

Overview of programs on the Lisk DAO website

Product overview

The platform was structured around a small set of core, purpose-driven pages:

  • About: Explains the role of LiskDAO and how to get involved

  • Programs: A searchable and filterable overview of active and past programs, including statuses such as live, upcoming, or ended

  • Funding: A guided flow explaining funding options and linking to application forms

Key UX challenges

The main challenge was balancing clarity with speed of execution.

Key considerations:

  • Making funding and programs easy to understand without overloading users

  • Designing simple, scannable program cards with clear statuses

  • Keeping application flows lightweight by using external tools (Tally)

An additional challenge came late in the project, when the visual direction shifted and the platform needed to fully align with Lisk’s existing brand system.

UI components on the Lisk DAO website

Key UX decisions

  • Simple page structure focused on discoverability

  • Clear program states (live, upcoming, ended) to reduce ambiguity

  • Lightweight filtering and search for programs

  • Strong, consistent calls to action across pages

Visual system & brand expression

The platform adopted Lisk’s official visual language to ensure consistency across the ecosystem.

Design considerations:

  • Dark theme aligned with the main Lisk site

  • Matching color palette, button styles, and iconography

  • Subtle use of Lisk’s visual patterns to differentiate the DAO without breaking brand consistency

The goal was familiarity first, with just enough distinction to give the DAO its own identity.

Implementation

  • Built in Webflow with a small, focused CMS setup

  • Programs and content managed through CMS collections

  • Lightweight custom code for filtering and interactions

  • External form handling via Tally for funding applications

Outcome

The platform successfully launched as the central hub for LiskDAO programs and funding initiatives. It enabled the DAO to run and showcase programs independently from the main Lisk website, while maintaining a cohesive brand experience. Internal stakeholders were satisfied with the delivery, and the platform continues to support active programs.

Learnings

This project reinforced the importance of validating branding and alignment early, especially when working alongside established ecosystems. It also highlighted how even small platforms benefit from clear structure, focused UX, and strong brand consistency.
